Shanker Lal Shroff personifies the indefatigable spirit of a first generation entrepreneur – a true visionary who painstakingly laid the foundations for Reliance Chemotex in 1977. Mr. Shroff began his adult life as a stock broker in the 1950s but soon recognised the vast potential of exporting Indian textiles into the North American and European markets at a time when foreign trade from India was unexplored. His business interests in textiles began in the early 1960s with the export of jute fibre to the United States and over the decades has diversified into yarn, fabric (Modern Fibotex India Limited), readymade garments (Spell Fashions Private Limited) and home textiles (Indo Textiles and Fibres Limited). His devotion to quality production, exceptional human relations and his irrepressible desire to be the best embodies everything Reliance Chemotex stands for today.
Sanjiv Shroff joined Reliance Chemotex Industries Limited in 1983 after graduating with Chemistry Honors from Calcutta University. He has served as its Managing Director since 1988.
Sanjiv’s thorough operational expertise, extraordinary industry insight and uncompromising value system have moulded Reliance Chemotex into the widely-respected organisation it is today.
Under his leadership, the company has witnessed tremendous growth:
